Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is the ONLY high school in the state of Oklahoma where students can obtain an associate's degree before they can even get their high school diploma.
We have many ESL (English as a Second Language) and ELL (English Language Learners) students, and 93% of our student population is on Free and Reduced Breakfast and Lunch Plans.
We would really appreciate any help you can provide to give our students an equitable chance to be successful in their academic careers!
Our students are focused and works extra hard for their brighter future. In order to help them and teach them, we need resources such as calculators. With this calculator, I can teach them more in depth and with understanding on math.
My Project
Our school is extremely special. By the time of graduation, students are able to obtain Associates degree 2 weeks before their high school diploma! Therefore all of the teachers work extra hard! However, we need some tools to help us move quickly and in depth. We do not teach students "How to take test". Instead, we teach them "Understanding" by collaborative worksheet, so they can build their communication skills; self discovery, so they can share their methods on the board to wow all the students; and many more ways. Also this calculator give us opportunity to teach math with art. One of the project I would like to do this year is Fraction Art. I want them to use fractions to create magnificent art! Therefore, we need your help! Will you invest in our students and trust in us as a teachers?
