Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The majority of our student population are English Language Learners (ELL).

I have had the privilege of working at this school for the past twenty years and have never experienced any situation like the one we are facing now.

These students have worked so hard this year and I worry that they are going to have major learning loss if we don't get the technology that will help us keep in touch with them.

My Project

My project is to provide as many students possible with Amazon Fire Tablets and get them connected with teachers online lessons, educational apps and ways to turn in assignments from home.

They will be distributed to low-income families in order to provide all students the opportunity to connect to online learning lessons from home.

These tablets will allow students to participate in Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science lessons provided by teachers online.

Students will use the tablets to participate in class meetings where they will have the opportunity to communicate with teachers and classmates. This is an essential skill they need to maintain the English Language they have worked so hard to develop over the year.
