Help me give my students the opportunity to use a form of learning that they are used to. With the printer, I would make and scan packets with pictures and specified words in color at various levels.

My students are my joy and I miss them! I worry about them and especially for their health and safety. I am even more concerned about their learning abilities and lack of teacher interaction, socialization, and motivation. I spend a lot of time communicating online and over the phone. Sometimes I have to dress up in my Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and make a home visit upon request from the parent or guardian to support our student.
My lessons for our Community-Based Activities class is on being emotionally healthy found on Google Classroom.
Videos are used to support the topic while giving affirmations. Students also have to log on to Google Classroom to work on their other 5 classes. This is very trying and not "least restrictive!" Not ALL students do not learn this way. I do what I can by adding audio to slides to support my readers as well as encourage them to read the slides aloud. I make so many examples like I would do in the classroom. This is a traumatic time for my students.
I created this project to decrease the barriers of learning for my students by using paper and pencil. I want to create packets for my students so they are able to work at their own pace and not worry about being logged into a computer. The printer requested can not only print but also scan assignments. The ink cartridges requested are so that, I too can continue to work while staying safe and healthy at home. If I can decrease the frustration for my students, I will do what it takes. Some students still do not have borrowed technology and/or hot spot equipment they need to work online. Students on my caseload have me for one other class besides science. So, two out of six classes would help some.
I will use the science books (that I have received from my last project) at various levels to individualize the packets then they can take photos with a cell phone to send the work to me or I can pick-up the work from a social distance.
I agree that I want my students to continue learning since we are apart and the future to return to school even in the fall is unknown. On the other hand, I am working on creating lessons to help deal with their emotions and create discussions with their families because the pandemic is traumatic enough.
