My Students

Most of my students are from an urban area. They have chosen to attend our public charter school, to be a part of a school whose mission surrounds leadership, rhetoric, entrepreneurship, and debate, in a classical model, with twenty-first-century skills.

Our school receives one-third of the funding of traditional public schools in our area from the state.

This creates an economic hardship for our school. As a result, we have a challenging time acquiring materials to support advancing our curriculum for our students.

My Project

The Chromebooks will make technology accessible to all learners by decreasing the digital divide. Since different students learn differently, it will help with the differentiated instruction in Mathematics and would allow for flexibility of learning for students to learn at their own pace and ability. As our school integrates technology into the curriculum, it would help all my students have fair access to technology. It would make a difference in my students' learning by decreasing the gap in the Math skills to be mastered by students who are at different levels in a classroom with mixed levels as the Math Lab online instruction is personalized to their needs.
