This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a wide variety of ethnicities as well as a diverse monetary background. These students love our school and thrive there but don't always have the funds to be able to participate in all activities.

LCHS students need more arts in their schedule and this ceramics class will provide an alternative to drawing and painting for them.

The ceramics class has been a huge success this year but we still need more supplies to ensure that we are able to complete certain projects. Please help bring additional arts to our great school.

My Project

Decorating wheels are an integral part of any ceramics class. The wheel puts the piece that the artist is working on at a higher level so that the student can get closer to the piece both physically as well as mentally.

The decorating wheel is necessary in any ceramics class.

The wheel allows the student to place their piece on a wheel that will turn when they move the wheel. This is very important for larger and more intricate art pieces. My students are doing well without the wheel but they would achieve so much more with the wheels implemented into the classroom.
