Decode to Encode: A Multi-sensory Approach to Reading
Help me give my students decodable readers to develop their reading fluency and expand their imaginations. I provide small group help for reading. I provide help that follows a multi-sensory systematic structured approach that immerse them in reading.
My students are amazing and hard working. They come from diverse backgrounds and languages that may inhibit their ability to understand the English language and phonetic system. They are desperate to read books, use their imagination and learn facts about animals.
For example, these materials such as phonic workbooks, dyslexia activities will allow my students to apply the phonetic rules they are learning to fiction and non-fiction stories that fit their interests.
The decodable books will give my students a chance to practice decoding and improve their fluency. Fluency and phrasing are essential for reading comprehension.
