My students are amazing. My school district is urban and very high poverty, and most of my students come from broken homes, shelters, and foster care. The students in my school receive 100% free breakfast and lunch.
Several students in my class are homeless, and most of them have experienced trauma at least once in their young lives.
Despite their setbacks, my students come to school each and every day ready to learn with a smile. They come to school and give everything they have to their lessons no matter what is going on at home. They work hard, and they truly deserve the best.
These materials will help my students finish the school year with fidelity. The supplies such as pencils, markers, and pens will allow us to successfully complete lessons and projects in the classroom. The Lysol wipes will allow us to keep out classroom clean and prevent the spread of germs.
Since most of my students families are not able to purchase the school supplies on their own, the cost of the supplies often falls on the teachers.
This year, many of the students in my class are very restless and struggle to stay on task. The fidget toys and sensory tools will help provide students with incentives to complete tasks, while also helping them stay focused during lessons.
