Mrs. Zietz from Upper Marlboro MD is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need journals, coloring pencils, pencils, and erasers to express their creativity and story telling. These things will help enhance their minds, imagination, and community in the classroom.

Teaching in a low-income school county, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. My goal is to find creative ways as well to keep the learning engaging for them. I want the students to feel comfortable and become their own author by providing a journal for them to use.
My students are creative, eager to learn, and imaginative.
They love hands-on learning and being famous story tellers with the limited amount of resources we have.
A lot of my students are raised in single family homes, just moved to the country, or can't afford the basic school needs. This has prevented them from building the structural knowledge they would need to excel and feel confident while learning. Some can't afford to express their creativity without the proper tools.
My classroom is a safe and fun place for the students to go. Most of the materials requested will allow my students to learn, as well as have fun things to do while learning. I am only helping them realize their full potential.
School is a place where the students are ready to come and learn. With the students being good at communicating verbally, my goal is for them to focus on their writing skills. Take those words, and put it in a journal! A lot of families are coming from another country and don't have much money to obtain these school supplies. I know my students would appreciate any help for them to become the authors they truly are.
With having the proper writing supplies, the students' confidence in learning would boost.
I'm requesting pencils to write with, journals to increase our writing, erasers for our mini mistakes, and colored pencils for students to add their own artistic touch (ART INTEGRATION).
Your help would ease the worry I have knowing I can't always accommodate to all my students. They also wouldn't feel like they can't achieve anything knowing they may not have school supplies. Your donation would help the students turn into wonderful writers in and out of the classroom
