I teach in a small, rural elementary school in the mountains of North Carolina. I have sixteen students. My class is a combination of third and fourth graders that independently read from primer to fifth grade level. We are in need of a classroom library of interesting books on a variety of subjects. We especially need books with science and social studies topics (space, rocks and minerals, simple machines, colonial America, Civil War America, or anything about North Carolina). We plan to use this library during DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time and during independent reading time on Fridays.
