My Students

Our students come from a diverse range of backgrounds with a wide variety of socio-economic classes and ethnicities represented. We have a strong ELL (English Language Learners) program and a large Special Education Population. Despite the struggles that some of our students face at home, they come to school ready to learn and play.

Our students are wonderful 6-8th graders and work hard to be the best that they can be.

This project will give our students an opportunity to share their creations with others.

My Project

Our school library is an active and fun place to be. Students come in to read, play games, work on homework, and create in the Makerspace. The library has a large wall that is currently only able to be used for displays. However, with the addition of this hardware, we will be able to put up book displays with books included.

By creating a place where students will be able to display their work in promoting books and Makerspace creations, we will be to create a student filled library.

Using the new shelving and the display shelves, we can display student's work. For example, if the students are creating book reviews we can hang them on the hooks or if students have created an item in our Makerspace, we can put these items on the shelves with descriptions and creator information. The library staff works hard to make sure that we are supporting the school's vision of every student valued individually and by being able to display student work, they will feel valued and respected.
