This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students this year are a wide-eyed group of ready learners. Most, if not all, spend a majority of their time on technology. Many are on approaching level or below level reading and math skills.
My students come from different experiences and backgrounds, but they all question, wonder, and want to create things.
Learning for them has to be fun and lively. They like to express and experience what they learn in a variety of ways and using different materials.
My Project
Effective learning requires dedicated teachers, adequate supplies, engaged students, and a good learning environment. My students will use the binders to keep track of their goals, progress, and self-reflection. As the year progresses the class will use the printer to print additional charts, lists, and learning artifacts throughout the year of learning. The dividers and sheet protectors will keep the binders neat and organized.
My students will use the data binders as a learning tool where they may periodically check-in on their growth and their involvement in the classroom environment.
The data binder will allow students to track their own behavior, assessments, writing, and their overall progress. This will help students see that they have a huge say-so in their learning.
