My students need Dash Robots to further their knowledge of coding to engage in STEM, to collaborate and to problem solve. Coding is becoming a life skill students need to develop.

My students are amazing! They thrive in a creative learning environment where they help set their learning goals and are provided with multiple ways to learn and solve problems. They love trying new things! We need to transform learning to fit the needs of students who are active, curious and ready for a challenge. My plan is to create a classroom that is interactive and engaging and allows for encouraging creativity.
Welcome to my classroom!
My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds in which over 90% of our students receive free lunch. They are smart, funny and excited learners. In addition to their diverse cultures, they have diverse learning needs such as General, Special Needs and English Language Learners. I love to foster what they have to offer by continuing to share with them a joy for learning.
Some of my students will be getting their firsthand experience building original code using the Dash app with Dash Robots. With the access to the Dot and Dash systems, my students will be engaged in a different type of learning. They will be the ones creating movement and action for a device.
They will be able to see their codes in action as Dash moves, lights up, talks and dances around.
Students will be able to string together blocks of code to program Dash and watch their ideas come to life. Most of my young students have yet to work with robots and this would be a great cornerstone for their education. Coding is an essential part of technology that our students need to learn in order to be successful in the future. The critical thinking skills that my students will learn when coding will aide them in becoming better leaders of tomorrow.
When students connect the power of computer languages to their everyday technology use, they begin to see the power in knowing how to "speak computer." Our students learn so much from hands-on activities and seeing what great things they can accomplish. I want my classroom to be a creative space and I want my students to walk away with skills and a profound experience that they will never forget. Help my learners develop the language and art of coding. They will love school and feel success at an early age.
