My Students

Our school is located in a high poverty, rural community. My students love hands-on activities. They are very energetic and need to get up and get moving on a daily basis. As a teacher in a low-income district, I try to provide the best experiences for my students in the classroom as well as out of the classroom. Many of my children are single parent households and received free or reduced lunches. As young learners, I try and make their classroom as warm and welcoming as possible and also I provide a very rigorous learning environment for them. I want each and every one of them to have the best educational advantage a young learner can possibly have.

My Project

Dash is a real robot that teaches students how to code while they play and learn. The children will code while they make Dash sing, dance and navigate all around their house or school. The children will be able to take their Dash's home and incorporate their learning experience with their families. Most families do not have a robot that they can maneuver. So, the children will be able to learn how to code at school then take Dash home and share their learning experience with their family.

True fun combined with actual learning is no easy task, but with Dash this changes their ways of thinking and learning.

With Dash my students will be able to create projects, challenges, and puzzles as well as endless possibilities.
