My students are enthusiastic learners in a high poverty, Title One school where every child receives free breakfast and lunch. We are located in a rural area where most of our parents are service workers or day laborers.
My students crave fun STEM activities where they can use technology, express their ideas, and also learn from the experience.
It is my goal to feed their appetite for this form of learning and create a desire to continue a quest for knowledge.
My Project
My STEM students love learning how to code. They love it so much that many of them continue to do the activities when they get back to their regular classrooms. So far, we have only been able to code on their iPads without any robots to try out what we have learned.
I know all my students will be hooked on coding when they can apply their coding to a real robot.
I would love for them to be able to use coding skills and Dash the Robot in their regular classrooms as they incorporate other subjects into Dash's objective.
