This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have the pleasure of teaching some of the most inquisitive and creative students! They thrive on learning new skills and applying that knowledge. They are always excited to learn about new technology and it is very rewarding to see the look of excitement on their faces as they discover new things. We are blessed to have a computer lab that the students visit each week. We have recently added some Dash robots to the technology lab (through a Donors Choose project) and the students absolutely love them!

My Project

Technology is at the center of daily life and students must be immersed in new technologies in order to become productive 21st Century citizens. STEM education is at the forefront of helping prepare students for lifelong careers and, as a school that does not receive Title-I funding, it is difficult to add new technology for student use. Through the gracious donations from my last project, I was able to add 4 Dash robots to the technology lab. My students have been mesmerized by the robots. You can feel the excitement when you walk into the room!! They are having a great time collaborating, coding, and problem-solving. However, with only 4 robots and class sizes with 25 students, it is difficult to use the robots with all students during a class period. With the addition of more Dash robots, my students will be able to participate in more STEM related activities. Thank you for your help!
