Every day is an adventure in learning and making great music together! We strive to find the joy that music brings while learning its concepts and fundamentals. My music classroom provides many opportunities for students to grow in their musical abilities through singing, playing instruments, and exploring various facets of music.
A majority of my students come from economically challenged homes.
Of my students, nearly 75% qualify for the free and reduced-price lunch program. Because of this, many of my students are not afforded opportunities outside of our city. In addition, they lack the resources necessary to explore opportunities like music technology outside of the classroom.
My students love to create and explore, and they could do exactly that with a new Dash Wonder Workshop Robot! Students would learn the beginning stages of coding as they program Dash to move and "dance" to the music! Just imagine how exciting our music literature listening sessions could become when this creativity is added into the lesson! In addition, students could also write their own songs for Dash to play on his xylophone!
My Project
A Dash Robot would be a great way for my students to learn coding and to make music at the same time. Being a STEM school, we are always looking for ways to bring technology into the arts in a meaningful way.
My students love the opportunity to combine music with technology, and Dash would give them the opportunity to do exactly that!
My students could program Dash to play the songs that they have composed. In addition, students could also work on their coding skills as they program Dash to move to previously programed songs or even their own compositions.
A Dash Robot would allow for many hands on experiences with creating, collaborating, coding, and composing!
