Kindergarten students are so amazing! That is why I have named my class the Amazing Kinders! We are working this year to build our reading and math skills, and our awareness of the big world around us.
Exposing kids to science will set them up for a lifetime of wonder and exploration.
This year I would like to get my students inquiring about themselves and how they connect to the world. Asking questions is more important than knowing the answers and in my classroom we will be working hard to grow our brains and ask the questions that Kinders are always wondering about.
My Project
My students need the Experiment of the Week kit so that we can practice inquiry in new and exciting ways.
I am asking for science materials for my Kindergarten class so that we can lead a weekly inquiry session on how our world works.
We will be looking at physical science, life science, and earth and space science throughout the year to develop a sense of wonder about the world we live in.
Becoming a student who wonders about the world is the first step to becoming an adult who takes action to change the world. I would like to give my Kindergarten students that ability to see how science can teach them about themselves, their communities, and the world as a whole. By developing that sense of wonder, I know my students will go on to do great things.
Kindergarten is all about exploration. We are not only exploring letters and numbers. We are exploring ideas. If we can give students access to big ideas and the ability to see how their choices and actions affect others, we can call Kindergarten a true foundation for education.
