My students need laptops in order to communicate, learn new and/or previously taught material, complete standardized testing and prepare for their future.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My scholars are absolutely amazing! They range in disability from academic to social skills to behavioral. They are all so smart in their own way. With that said, they all learn in their own unique manner. The one way that they all live learning with is technology. When they are in my class, they know that they are safe and can leave behind their worries of living in poverty and all of the emotional strains that it brings, and just learn. Learn to read, write, calculate, and connect with their peers.
My Project
Laptops will enable my students to communicate their needs, wants and connect with peers. It will also give them the opportunity learn new and/or previously taught material in a manner that is best for him/her. This will also give them the chance to participate in required testing in a small group without the added pressure of having to wait for technology to be available. Most importantly by having laptops (which I currently do not have any), it will enable my students to be able to prepare for their future. One that will be filled with technology and all that comes with it.
