My Students

I teach 25 extraordinary students. They come from many walks of life, and bring with them rich cultures from all over the world. Making my classroom a beautiful mosaic of NYC! They love math and technology, books, music, sports, art, and dance.

Even though some of my students have learning disabilities, they all have the passion to learn and are open to new experiences, such as ballroom dancing.

Their aspirations are high, as they all want to do their best, and soar to excellence!

My Project

Imagine attending an event where the music begins and the student can now ask someone to dance one of the ballroom dances learned. This can only be achieved through a dedicated teaching artist showing the students the different ballroom dance styles. No longer will the student have to say the dreaded, "I don't know how to dance," phrase. Instead, it will be, "May I have this dance, please?" In addition to dancing, students will learn social graces, and the ability to work cooperatively. I hope we will have dancing young ladies and gentlemen in this class. "Five, six, let's begin..."
