My students need a new iPod Touch to use for daily class and rehearsals. Our previous iPod is showing wear and tear and is becoming unreliable. As the dancers say, "Mrs. S. the iPod is bugging!"

My dance students face daily challenges living in an urban city. Currently, our school is struggling in the way of test scores but since the introduction of a formal performing arts curriculum, we are already seeing positive changes in our students. They have found something that they are good at and many have aspirations to be performers as well as dance educators themselves.
"Dance is for everybody.
I believe that the dance came from the people and that it should always be delivered back to the people." - Alvin Ailey
The community is ridden with violent crime, and it seems like it may be getting worse. I was shocked to learn most of my students have known someone who fell victim to violent crime. With all the challenges and negativity my students are subject to, they have learned to love and appreciate dance. My mission for the past nine years has been to enrich my students' lives with the arts by giving them a sense of accomplishment and showing them how the arts can benefit their every day lives. My dancers now have a safe place to learn and grow as respectful people and budding artists.
Technology is amazing and ever changing and transitioning to Bluetooth in the dance class has been a game changer! I am able to circulate the studio, give individual attention and save time by never having to stop instruction or rehearsal to walk over to the iPod. It's right in my hand and with just a click we can 'take it from the top'. I use the iPod for daily ballet class, jazz, modern, playlists for performances and of course warm-ups.
Our latest iPod is showing it's age so we are searching for an upgrade.
However, these wonderful gadgets don't last so long. A new device would be so nice!
