This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom consists of little eager learners who enjoy coming to school and expressing their creative spirits. We engage daily in science and math integrated lessons and my students are more than eager to learn. Our classroom is the place where we spend the most time engaging in creative learning and practicing social and emotional skills. From the time my students come into the building in the morning, they light up the room and show me how developmentally enhanced they are becoming.
My Project
I will be teaching a dance/poetry class during our after-school program.
This is an awesome opportunity for our young girls and boys.
Dance is everywhere in the world around us. Dance is in every movement we make every day: from opening the car door to walking up the train steps, to getting out of the bed in the morning. Exploring dance can help our students to learn about their bodies, the larger world around them, how to express themselves, and better communicate with others.
Our students are busting with live energy! They are constantly embracing the chance to display their kinetic style of learning.
We are faced with some challenges that can inhibit our dance program and our dance performance.
We are in a great need for a sound system and dance attire.
With the help of kind sponsors, our dance program can be a success. Let’s not short circuit the students' STEM experience.
