I'm excited to be teaching first grade again this year at the elementary school my own children attended. I know many of the incoming students as I see them in the community, at church & at sporting events. We are a rural community with many students receving reduced & free lunch.
After having taught students via Zoom last year, I look forward to having students back in class and providing my students the materials that will support their learning.
My Project
As we are doing more and more in our safe classroom environment, the supplies provided in this project will help support the students in engaging both cognitively and physically. Proper sentence structure is ideal for first grade students because it sets them up for success in writing various types of paragraphs and expressing their ideas so others can understand them.
Physical education is essential for a well-rounded education and having access to a part-time physical education teacher every other week is not enough.
By having the resources, I can provide the students access to physical education activities on the weeks where they don't have P.E. class.
