Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work for a low socioeconomic community. My students are ready and willing to learn, but it would be a better place to learn if they had specific supplies in the classroom. About 75% of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and nearly 70% are English language learners.
My students are young, but this is why it is so important to shape and impact their young lives!
My students truly are eager to learn and willing to do their personal best! I am so impressed by them! At my school, we like to say that we are all college-bound as well. My students may be a little young for college right now, but they will be prepared for success!
My Project
My students are learning and growing everyday. They love to draw, color, and practice their writing skills. Every Friday is dedicated to journals. My students are the cutest, and they play teacher during free choice play time. They then practice the journals with each other. This is partly why I need a lot of copy paper. That, and they love to make letters and notes to each other and their friends and family.
Awards are special and improve moral!
Copy paper and printer ink allow me to show when they students have leveled up in their academic computer games; it allows me to make new copies to strengthen their hand writing and coloring skills and it allows me to print out adorable individual and class photos!
Tape and magnets will allow me to display important student work!
