This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am very excited to be teaching at a new school this year. I will be the cultural arts teacher. As shown in my school info, nearly all students come from a low-income family. I have learned that low income does not speak of the quality of students. I have some very intelligent, very eager to learn students. Across the nation, schools are struggling to provide resources the students need due to state and federal budget cuts. My students deserve the best, and I am their advocate to make sure they get the best. We are making huge strides to improve in all aspects and the students deserve to have new books, new pieces of technology, and new life experiences to further help them succeed in school and life.
My Project
I absolutely love my job. I have the privilege of teaching K-4 interventions for math and ELA. I am at home with ELA. That's my passion and my investments have definitely been made on the ELA aisle of my local school supply store. I don't dislike math, but I do not have a stocked math cabinet to match the ELA cabinet. I see my math students on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I would love to have an ETA Daily Math Fluency kit to have hands on items to help reach these struggling students. These kits are packed full of amazing resources that will give my students just what they need to succeed in math.
