Third-grade students love to learn, and I love providing them with as many resources as I possibly can through DonorsChoose to enhance their education at our school. I teach two classes of third-grade students. I teach language arts and social studies to my first block, and I teach math and science to my second block. There are forty diverse students total in my classes. Many of these students receive free or reduced-price lunches. I have been teaching for sixteen years. This is my third year to teach third grade.
My Project
Next school year, I will teach two classes of Language Arts. Third graders need daily practice with reading and comprehending fiction and nonfiction text. I am requesting for 42 Daily Comprehension Common Core Practice Journals so each of my students will have his/her own journal to use daily. This journal has Language Arts common core standards for third and fourth grade so it will also challenge my students because there are fourth grade standards as well. I hope this project will be funded by the end of the summer so I would receive the journals at the beginning of the next school year. Thank you so much for considering my project for funding!
