Our school focuses on bringing technology and movement into our classrooms. Helping our kids stay active and engaged throughout the school day helps them stay focused on their learning experience. We have a small campus, which is wonderful. We are able to foster close relationships with our students as well as the staff. We are also a Title I school that helps children close the gap on academic challenges. Technology is one way we accomplish this.
My first grade students love using technology during Daily 5.
Technology allows my first graders to create independence while learning. We are an elementary arts academy that focuses on students' creativity in the classroom and in after school activities. They are amazing little people who love to be involved in their learning experience through application.
My Project
This year our first grade classroom is going digital! We are so excited! And, Samsung Galaxy tablets are part of that digital plan.
Our kids are going to jump into the 21st century and use technology as their jumping off point.
We are exchanging paper for tablets during Daily 5 and Daily 3. There are many educational apps that challenge the mind and at the same time, make learning fun.
My first graders will use the apps on the tablets to learn and practice topics like foundation skills, vocabulary, operations/algebraic thinking, numbers/operation and geometry. The digital age has come to first grade!
