My Students

I work at a very diverse school, and I have a multicultural classroom. My school has almost 1,000 students on our campus with 48 different languages spoken. The students in my classroom are from 8 different countries and speak 10 different languages. I have English Language Learners of all levels in my classroom. I also have special needs students, struggling readers, average learners and high achieving students. I find it is important to teach my students to be critical thinkers and lifelong learners.

My Project

In my 2nd grade classroom I use the Daily 5 learning model. Which means that my students are working on reinforcing their math and language arts skills while I am teaching in a reading group. The table and chairs will give my students additional space for them to work instead of having to sit on the floor during one of the rotations.

The Apple iPads will be a welcome addition to my classroom.

The chrome books that I currently share with another classroom are old and have sticky keypads. My students will be able to access a variety of reading and research websites to enhance their learning while in the Daily 5 rotation.
