This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The drum section needs a crash, crash cymbals that is. We need to add a set of cymbals to our drum section. These cymbals would be used by the students in the band.

We are located in a public k-5 elementary school in the New Jersey.

The school is a very high need area. My students consist of 3rd-5th grades. Many of these students' parents can not afford to rent or purchase an instrument. Many of the students are interested in participating in our instrumental music program.

My Project

If you close your eyes and listen to a band play, it is hard not to hear a drummer using some kind of cymbal. The cymbals requested will help my young percussionists become more well rounded. These cymbals will provide opportunities for the students to learn how to use different percussion instruments. This will also teach them how read the different type of music using the cymbals.

Music is an extremely important part of these young peoples life.

It is something that they can choose to be a part of. They get to explore different avenues to help educate them selves through music. Please remember that the gift of music is an amazing thing that can stick with a person their entire life.
