I teach at a Title I alternative high school whose focus is the at-risk youth in grades 9-12. This small school needs a spark to its physical education program. Fitness in the community is not valued, and we need help changing this. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch through a government program.
With your help, we can give these underprivileged students a healthy outlook concerning lifelong fitness, and change a community.
The majority of students have very low economic backgrounds, many have suffered physical and emotional traumas, many have been in prison, and homelessness is commonplace. I want all my students to have great opportunities and a safe place to be active.
This spin bike will provide all our team sports (basketball, volleyball, and soccer) with a low impact cardio workout for conditioning purposes. Our dream is to have a competition, to see who the first athlete to spin one-hundred miles over the month of May. This competition will be done every year, as long as the spin bike works. If we have ten athletes finish this competition that would be one-thousand miles cycled! Each year I will devise new challenges for our athletes.
Your past donations have launched our after-school sports programs into full throttle, thank you for helping to keep these athletes in incredible condition.
This would be a great addition for our after-school sports programs. This low impact cardio will help keep our student-athletes joints in great working order and increase muscular strength. Donors choose has been making our school's dreams become a reality, thank you for your continued donations and supporting the health of Arizona's youth and team sports
