Through experiments, students are more likely to learn, understand and comprehend the material. Students also read daily for fun, research or to learn about topics we are talking about in class. This is a small glimpse into my classroom.
Each of my students come with their own story and a very unique personality.
My goal is to instill a love of learning in each student. I believe in each of them and I want them to believe in themselves. I will have a wonderful and very active class this next year. Most importantly, they have a desire to learn. We have 73% of our students participating in the free/reduced program, and we are a small rural school with a very limited budget. This school is nestled within a very caring community. I am very proud to be a part of this school and want to see these students succeed.
My Project
This project is inspired by Let's Adjust Our Behavior and Save Water! I would like my students to be able to participate in hands-on activities. Through reading books together or in centers as well as participating in experiments students will have a better understanding of water and what we can do to help. Students will be researching to create a poster on how to conserve water. The Water Filtration Kit will help students understand what water goes through before it comes out of our faucet. Elementary Science Instant Learning Center - Water Cycle will provide students with an understanding of how water goes through each step. Students will be able to work together in cooperative groups at stations.
These science kits and books will provide my students with the opportunity to use several multiple intelligences to learn about water and how to help conserve to help our environment.
