My students are incredible. Despite having the daily challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder, my students love to learn and take in new information; they get so excited to raise their hands and participate. They make me appreciate every day that I come to school.
Learning is infectious in our classroom; we use so many different methods to gain our knowledge.
Every project we are able to do is met with enthusiasm, and my students are the heart of the classroom.
To learn about the world around us and how to best prepare for our futures, my students use a variety of techniques, technology, and methods to learn to their best ability. I am simply amazed at the milestones they are able to achieve.
My Project
The impact of Autism often make it difficult for my students to attend to and engage in their academic and vocational lessons. Wiggles, over-stimulation, and a need to constantly be moving means that traditional desks and sitting still are difficult for my kids.
By having a stationary bike, my most impacted students will have the opportunity to learn and grow even when their needs are impacting them most.
They will be able to release their energy and over-stimulation in a healthy and productive way that allows them to pay attention, listen and learn while moving without disrupting the other students and staff members in the classroom.
