Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first grade teacher. My students are ready to transition from reading simple texts to reading chapter books, from developing number sense to applying mathematical concepts to real-life situations, to writing sentences, paragraphs, and reports that teach others about what they know. Students at this age love learning! It is my job to keep them engaged so they learn those connections between what we do in the classroom and the world outside the classroom.

Every student has his/her unique way of learning, hence why it is so important to make learning accessible in different ways.

My classroom is very diverse. My students speak different languages, some students are even learning to communicate in English.

My role is being a classroom facilitator who makes their learning experience enjoyable and meaningful by validating what they bring to the classroom.

My Project

Lenovo 300e and Google Chrome Software are great tools to engage students in the effective use of technology. Students are coming to the classroom with a subtle understanding of how to use technology. The use of Chromebooks in the classroom will help students see the power of how to use technology effectively to enhance their learning.

My students will benefit from receiving the Chromebooks because they will be more actively engaged while learning how to use digital tools to improve their learning experience.

Students will use the Chromebooks daily in small groups. They will conduct their own research and improve it by using the Chromebooks to research, have access to digital libraries, and enhance their writing.
