Cutting Up With Pre-K

My students need access to a Cricut cutting machine and accessories. These will be used in my classroom to die-cut letters, shapes etc. to enhance my students' learning.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I hate to brag...but I have the smartest, most talented, creative set of learners of all time. In my class we are fostering a love for learning in every single student that walks through our door! In our class we have future scientists, doctors, world travelers, CIA Agents etc.

Because I know that my class is so valuable to New Orleans, Louisiana, America and the planet Earth, I will do everything I can to ensure they have access to the things they need to support their learning.

My Project

Pre-K students need access to a variety of hands on activities to enhance their learning. The Cricut cutting machine and accessories will be used in my classroom in all subjects!

A Cricut is essential to a pre-k classroom!

There are a thousand ways to use a cricut and here a few ways I plan to use them in different subjects!

In Art students will be able to create their own Cricut designs, print them and make shirts or other tangible items.

In Math students will have access to their own personalized set of number flashcards based on what numbers they are working on at that time.

In English/Language Arts, I will use the Cricut to create a more print-rich classroom. A print rich classroom is important because it's how our babies discover that there is another way to communicate—through print!

In Handwriting students will use Cricut designs to how to spell and write their names along with other words, through letter art activities!

In Science students will have an opportunity to explore the solar system by using the designs we make on the Cricut to make their own galaxies!!

We could also use the Cricut by using the materials and the machine to create shirts for events and field trips!
