I am the Family Consumer Science teacher and FCCLA coordinator at a small, rural school. My students are eager to learn about careers. In my class I have future teachers, nurses, fashion designers, chefs, lawyers, managers, and bankers. My students learn skills such as sewing, cooking, money management, college prep, child development, and career prep.
My students are hard-workers that strive to do their best.
I want to do everything I can to provide them with quality experiences that will prepare them for their future careers.
My class creates products to support students school-wide for their accomplishments and encourage them in upcoming events. We were blessed to have the technology to create custom graphics and cut them from vinyl donated through DonorsChoose.org. We are in need of the vinyl necessary to create the students' designs. The vinyl decals and iron-ons are put on bags, cups, rally towels, shirts, and blankets that are used to reward and motivate our students.
This project will allow my students to follow through with the manufacturing process, as well as fill a campus-wide need at the same time.
Learning to use technology through the entire process is an excellent opportunity for our students.
