My Students

I teach Kindergarten in an Oklahoma A+ school that values teaching to the multiple intelligences. The children in my classroom love to read and listen to stories. The children enjoy math too. Reading stories aloud connected to the math curriculum helps children makes connections to develop their mathematical thinking.
My Project
The 29 books requested are recommended literature for my district adopted grade level math curriculum. The books will appeal to children's multiple intelligences by giving them a story linked to a math concept as well as visual clues to help solidify the concepts we study. Children will develop their skills as readers as they listen to these stories read aloud. The books will allow integration of literacy and math allowing children to make deeper connections with the concepts we are learning.
