This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a mixed ability group of students chosen by the teachers and fellow students. Some of the students have reading disabilities and others have social challenges. These students are grouped with other students. We meet once a week to eat breakfast together. We read biographies, plan a living museum for the younger students, and plan projects to improve our school. The goal of our group is to improve our reading skills while learning to face social challenges to create change for our school.

My Project

I have a group of students, from 2nd to 4th grade, that come to eat breakfast and read books with me once a week. These students are working together on reading and projects. I want to reward their work by letting them create their own group logo for shirts and car decals. With a Cricut Explore Air, they would be able to make professional looking shirts and decals that we could use as a fundraiser. The funds raised would go toward a project planned by the students. They have discussed updating our playground or creating a no bully campaign. Whichever project is chosen, we will work toward improving our school.
