Ms. Drake from OH is requesting art supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a Cricut die cutting machine, inkjet printer, and Cricut supplies to demonstrate their creative personalities while bringing inquiry to life.

I teach at re-design school in Ohio. Re-design schools are the lowest 10-15% of schools in the district. One hundred percent of our students in the building receive free lunch and breakfast. This network of re-design schools represents not only our clearest need, but also our greatest opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students. The majority of the school is performing at least 1-2 grade levels below grade level.
My students are faced with many different obstacles and I don't believe demonstrating their knowledge through creativity should be one.
My scholars are 4th grade special education students being serviced in an inclusion classroom. My students are eager and the classroom and ready to engage in their learning. Our new re-design model is inquiry and I can really see their creativity come to life.
We are asking for a Cricut along with some accessories and a printer to be used as a resource tool in our classroom for inquiry-based projects. My scholars are extremely talented, and they enjoy demonstrating their learning in a variety of ways. As a way for the students to show their creativity and individuality with inquiry based projects, we would like a Cricut machine.
This Cricut machine will allow my scholars to create a variety of high-quality projects throughout the school year.
The printer will allow the students to print and revise their projects based on feedback to each other in the classroom prior to them creating a final project using the Cricut. Not only will it allow them to do things like create projects based on their learning outcomes, but it would have a great impact on their use of technology in the classroom. The use of the Cricut and the printer will allow me to teach the students how to use different technology in the appropriate manner. They will have a hands-on experience with design software, which would only benefit them in their educational career. With the use of the design lifter, transfer press, and pens my scholars will have essential opportunities to practice their fine motor skills.
My students will also benefit from the use of a Cricut and press machine in the social emotional aspect of learning. It will allow them to create personalized shirts as well as stickers. Scholars enjoy celebrating their success just as much as they enjoy knowing that what they want makes a difference. To promote good work habits, creativity, and collaboration stickers can be used. The students would be able to design their own sticker using the Cricut. The students can earn their stickers to celebrate their gains.
