This group of students has an obvious, unique desire to be wholly present this year. I can only chalk it up to one thing; absence makes the heart grow fonder! They have shown me from day one that they are eager to learn and thankful to be present inside the school (and not homeschooling)! Our school serves a rural population of students. My class is full of happiness, laughter, smiles, and a desire to try and learn new things. During this difficult time, my students are still determined to push forward and try their best. Most students at this age-level, learn the most through hands-on activities and opportunities.
My Project
This Cricut machine will allow the implementation of technology into the classroom. It will be providing our second grade classroom with the Cricut machine, tools, and vinyl to get started on our first project. It will be a learning experience for both the kids and myself. I see many people using Cricut machines for personal gain, and I think it would be a perfect opportunity to teach the kids how to make crafts for themselves, for the classroom and making gifts for others. I envision using this technology to post objectives in the classroom, making personalized labels to create a cutting edge classroom collaborative environment. One of the best things we can give to our students is the implementation of technology into their learning.
