My Students

At our school, we have around 200 students in grades K-5, with 70% qualifying for free or reduced lunches. We have a diverse group of students with a variety of learning styles, abilities, needs, and socio-economic backgrounds.

We are always looking for ways to get students to be engaged and CREATIVE!

Unfortunately, with state-wide budget cuts, our supplies are limited, which also limits their creativity, and exposure to new mediums.

Besides helping with fine motor skills, what students learn in art spills over into other subjects. Patterns and colors help in Math. Cross Categorical help with deeper thinking is Social Studies. STEAM projects combine science and art. So Art is a WIN for everyone! It is my hopes with this project to incorporate the use of Technology in my classroom more!

My Project

Imagine a world where you could dream up a project, design it, then cut it out of almost any material and then build it! That is exactly what I am hoping my students get to experience with the new Cricut. It has the capabilities for the students to design their own projects as well as many others to choose from.

This will open a whole new world of materials for my students to create with.

It has the capabilities to cut leather, fabric, cardboard, canvas, and many other different mediums. With your help possibilities are endless, thank you for your support!
