My students need individual die cuts of shapes, letters, and items to create daily/weekly projects. They also need a die cutting machine and a die storage rack.
Our classrooms are filled with lots of hands-on projects. Our children love to paint, cut, glue, color, sort, and play. Most of these projects would be easier if we had a die cut machine with lots of usable dies to go with it.
"It takes a big heart to help shape little minds."-Unknown
Our school is a PK-2nd grade school.
We have 6 PK teachers that would use all of these items every week, if not every day. Our students are loving, bright and full of energy. We are a Title I school and all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. They are so excited to come to school each day and get to explore and interact with other 4-5 year old children. They get so excited about a simple glue stick or rainbow colored sequins and paint, oh my! They are simply little artists at work with the world as their blank slate.
Each week we introduce a different letter of the alphabet. We try to do as many art activities with the letter throughout the week. A die cut machine with die cuts would make this much easier and will cut down on the time it takes to cut out each item for a project.
My Project
Each week, a new letter of the alphabet is introduced to the students. Each class has several projects for each of these letters. The die cut machine and dies will be stationed in our teacher work room for all teachers to have access to. By having the die cuts, our prep time will be cut in half, if not more. It will be easier to have a die cut circle that the teacher tracing out 20 circles and cutting them by hand. A machine would be quicker and this would give us more time to set up art supplies that go along with each project.
I believe that our schools 100 pre-kindergarten students will gain confidence in themselves.
They will hopefully love to learn and love to create new things. I know that by getting a die cut machine and dies, our teachers will have easy access to making teaching fun. Also, many new projects and activities will be created by having these dies accessible.
