Cut Classroom Computer Time Chaos With Individual Headphones!

Help me give my students headphones to use when using technology. This would enable all of my students to focus intently and in turn increase what they are able to accomplish. Books for our classroom library too!!

My Students

Many of my students are coming from a virtual learning platform. Therefore as first graders this is their first in-person experience in a classroom. My students come from diverse economic backgrounds including a variety of cultures. I wish to create a classroom that feels safe, friendly, cohesive and inviting to all. I wish to celebrate uniqueness and differences. As I prepared for my students to come to school in uncertain times, it is important to me that I am able to offer a safe, warm, inspiring classroom to ease the minds of concerned parents and students. Learning is magical and exciting, and I work hard to convey that by creating an inspiring, inviting classroom that encourages these curious little learners to ask questions and begin developing habits of "listening and doing", safety, responsibility and respecting one another for future success both academically and socially.

My students are so eager to learn!

I believe it is prime time to learn and practice proper social skills, as well as gain cognitive tools that aid in coping in times that may cause anxiousness & distress. I want to offer safety, security, and peace to these little ones as times evolve.

My Project

The headphones would be used multiple times each day by each student! By having students have their own pair it will allow them to access their online learning with minimal to no distractions. First graders lose their focus so easily and especially in busy, distracting settings as they are currently trying to concentrate in. As of now, all students are trying to do their literacy and math online learning within the same classroom. 25 computers with their volumes going at once is loud and chaotic and most definitely not ideal for focus. Each student's ability to learn and retain would improve considerably with the use of having individual headphones.

Additionally with the high concern of spreading illness, each student would be able to be assigned their own headphones.

This way they won't be sharing items they handle and that come close to their faces. Additionally the sanitizing supplies would be such a welcomed extra in keeping our classroom clean and healthy during cold season.

We also always get excited over new books and classroom supplies! The books I've had in my wishlist for awhile! Books I've borrowed from other teachers and my students have loved all of them.

Being able to provide my students with these items would benefit us all tremendously!! These would be a wonderful, needed addition to our learning!!
