Even though we are finally getting to our new normal after covid, we are still living in stressful times. My students seem to feel discouraged at times and I try to make their learning experience as pleasant and easy as possible. I want them to know that no matter what is going on around them, in my classroom they are special and loved. I enjoy making things for them like customized water bottles, backpack decals, shirts, and stickers that they like.
Simply just letting them choose a color, character, or personal design lets them customized their things and creates a short of individuality
I love to show them how unique they are.
I have my own cricut maker at home that I use, but I would love to be able to have a cricut machine in class to be able to make things at school for them. Having a full size machine will help with making bigger designs, multiple things at once , and be more time effective with so many students. The heat press will allow me to use heat transfer vinyl to easily customarize fabric materials. The carrying cases will help keep everything secure and safe when not in use.
The different color vinyls will let them choose what they like and what color they want it. It can also help to label their materials. Giving them choices and providing opportunities for them to make decisions for themselves helps with confidence. Customizing things with their names helps them take responsibility and ownership to take care of their classroom materials. I have seen their faces light up every time I make them something. When my students are happy, they behave better and strive harder in their academics.
