My students need a place where they can be engaged and comfortable while reading.

I would love to be able to provide the opportunity for my students to experience that same feeling!
I teach kindergarten at a school with a forty percent poverty level. There are 19 students in my class. My students LOVE to read! Some of their favorite times of the day are independent and partner reading. However, it is difficult to keep them engaged for too long when they are either sitting at their desks or on the tile floor.
Our classroom has a book corner with two bean bags, but students argue over who gets to sit in them. In addition, students are constantly exchanging books, so it is too distracting to read there.
My Project
I want to provide my students with a time where they can comfortably read without distractions. I am requesting 24 soft seats, as well as 24 individual book bins.
With the soft seats, students will have their own seat that they can take to a spot in the classroom. They won’t be restricted to the small book corner or their desks. The individual book bins will allow them to have their selected books near. This would be a wonderful alternative to making multiple trips back and forth from the book corner.
