Inspiration to me comes from the direct imagination of my students. They take the lead in learning. In the words of Mrs. Frizzle.
"It's time to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy." I love the climate culture that they set every year.
The ideas my students come up with for problem solving never cease to amaze me. This year my students will begin a new adventure by coming to school ALL day. That's right, all day. We will be opening our new Early Childhood Center in the ISD and are so excited to take this journey.
We are the first milestone for students in education. It is our duty to expand and enrich their experiences.
Most of my students come into my classroom as English Language Learners and they arrive with a yearning to learn and explore. Their minds soak up information like sponges in both English and Spanish.
These different kinds of flexible seating are having a huge impact on students learning. There are many benefits to having these in the classroom. As students move around in these seats, they get thier blood flowing and increase oxygen flowing to their brain. This gives them focus and energy to learn, not to mention helping their posture.
Flexible seating allows for more collaboration in small groups.
Students are able to work together and learn to communicate with each other. The willingness to participate is increased exponentially when they can choose what kind of seat they want to sit in.
Lastly, its fun! Learning should be fun and innovative. We are preparing our students for jobs/careers that have yet to be invented. It is our mission to teach them to work together and comfort in their learning environment is where to begin.
