This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are so unique in their own ways! They love sports and are very competitive with one another in the classroom. As a whole, their favorite subject is math. It was something I noticed during the first week of school.
They also love doing group STEM projects and working with each other.
Their favorite activity is building the tallest tower with dry spaghetti and marshmallows. We participated in a post card exchange this year, and the students were ecstatic to get "snail mail" from a classroom in each state!
My Project
We were recently told, midyear, that the students are now required to be taught cursive handwriting.
Due to funding in the school district, we were not provided any materials to teach cursive handwriting to our students.
I am reaching out to DonorsChoose for help with getting handwriting books to provide to each child. Since being told about this new requirement, I have printed and copied several sheets for students to trace cursive letters on. My ink is running dry, so having cursive handwriting books on hand will help me consistently include cursive handwriting in my daily schedule. The books will be put to use every single day!
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mrs. Armstrong and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
