Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in my class is characterized by manners, reading with enthusiasm, and writing with passion.
My students love math, science, and are always using engineering ideas to help us problem solve.
All my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. My school's neighborhood is located in an older part of Las Vegas. We have a large English language learner population. More importantly, I just love my families. So many want their children to do better in school and all have been so supportive of our classroom.
Our school's future is bright. We know we are going to overcome everything that has happened with the pandemic, and we will get stronger together!
My Project
The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card would help me purchase more science/math based curriculum from the Teachers Pay Teachers website to actively help engage my students.
More importantly, with this gift card I would be able to add more variety to my students' daily content.
I can't over emphasize how important this would be. Keeping my students engaged online has been such a challenge.
I can't imagine how fun it would be if I could change my students' routines each week with new content. This is particularly important because traditional curriculum never accounted for a pandemic and education needs to adapt to this. Having many options to choose from will help meet the needs of all of my students.
