My Students

My students are hard workers that have to strive for every advantage they need for success. They come from a low-income neighborhood that struggles to remain a good neighborhood to raise a family. The students appreciate their learning and the security and safety that school provides.

My students are interested in how they can actively contribute to the world.

School is their means to find ways to engage in ideas and knowledge that propel them to their future. Our school has been seeing gains in our students as we focus on teaching both character and content.

My Project

Time For Kids offers my students relevant, engaging articles about current events in our world. Students in my class do not have access to newspapers or magazines and really need this resource. They will be able to read interesting non-fiction articles to increase their language arts skills. The articles will promote lively discussion and critical thinking as they talk about new information and ideas.

I want my students to read about events in our world and spark their interests.

I want them to find ways they can help solve problems and be involved to better our world. Students are capable of making powerful changes and this is a way for them to focus their energy and create a positive outcome.
