My Students

Students are fostering their love for learning this year. We would love to encourage all students to be comfortable, care for one another, communicate with family, and strengthen their love for reading.

Our school is very unique in that we have no walls.

This is an incredibly unique learning environment. We can build ​closeness with colleagues and peers that not many schools can have when they are isolated within the classroom walls.

My students live in a suburban setting; however, we have a very high special education and ELL population. It is not an affluent area and many families have dual income; therefore, parents are working late. ​ Many do not have access to technology at home and I would love to give them the opportunity to practice with it in the classroom.

My Project

Every year, my personal goal for my students is to help them learn to love reading. In order for students to love reading, they need to be exposed to many different resources so they can find text that speaks to their interest.

Storywork Jr.

is just the ticket I need to reach many different abilities and interest levels that I have in my classroom. I would love a yearly subscription to this magazine. The main reason is that it has a variety of leveled text that will reach many different levels. Also, subject matter is current and intriguing. This subscription also provides technology options for my students to practice with and it provides a number of genres of reading that we study yearly.
