My Students

My students come from a large, rural, neighborhood community about 20 miles north of a major city. Our community does a great job of partnering with our school. Even though we have great community support, we still need materials that will enhance our students' learning.

After 25 years of teaching First Grade, this year I am teaching Kindergarten.

I am excited about this new challenge, however I now have a need for materials that are appropriate for this age group. All donations are very much appreciated by my students and myself.

My Project

These bean bag seat will make a huge difference with my students by providing an environment that is comfortable and conducive to learning to read.

Reading, especially in Kindergarten, is such a very important component of our educational day.

The classroom as well as centers should be inviting, cozy and show students that I value reading by providing them with the materials to be successful.

I believe having comfortable bean bag chairs will allow my students to be comfortable while enjoying a good book. This also allows students to try out new strategies that we teach in class. It is so important to allow students time to practice what we teach.
