Help me give my students an opportunity to learn and discover through STEAM activities, Maker-space, and flexible seating options to inspire their creativity and curiosity!
Second graders are inquisitive! They have brains like sponges and love learning. They are wiggly! They have big emotions, thoughts, and questions! Second graders are kind to their teacher, but most importantly kind to each other. They are smart and love to tinker and explore!
I am excited to meet my new group of students this year!
I will greet approximately 20 second graders who will be excited to be back in school and ready to learn! Help me make learning fun and engaging!
My Project
In my classroom this year I am changing out the traditional morning work for Maker-Mornings. This will be a time where they can go to get Maker Space activities, which will focus on learning through exploration. They will be given a STEAM challenge weekly on top of their own innovative ideas. No more sitting at their desks and being quiet while working on a worksheet to keep them busy.
This project will allow students to work on projects of their choosing to build, explore, and create!
Traditional seating does not work so well for building, creating, and collaborating so I have added some flexible seating options as well to help students have room and equipment for their projects. I also have some storage added so we can store projects because creativity is sometimes messy!
